Neutrik connectors: yellow or silver tongue?

PowerCon connectors NAC3FCA and NAC3FCB by Neutrik had lots of evolution over the years that have led them to become more and more performing and reliable. Today we can identify 3 versions of the flying PowerCon which, although they may seem very similar at first glance, actually have small differences that characterize them.

First serie (picture V1): at the beginning Neutrik had only the blue PowerCon connecotr and the tongue was silver with plastic sliding slot.

Second serie (picture V2): Neutrik introduces the new serie TRUE 1 IP 65 with yellow tongue. Connectors become more durable, the cable gland changes its shape for better grip, sliding slot in sheet metal and yellow tongue also on PowerCon connectors.

Third serie (picture NEW): Neutrik introduces a new version of the TRUE 1 serie, TRUE 1 TOP. The cable gland and the sliding slot are the same of the previous serie, the tongue changes its colour and become silver (on NAC3FCA and NAC3FCB).

That's why you can find a different colour tongue on Neutrik PowerCon connectors.

Please note that the chassis connector ( NAC3MPXXA e NAC3MPXXB) has remained unchanged, so the three versions are all compatible with each other.
